I was thinking about making an "Off-Topic Dolls: HORROR EDITION" thread for the gothy or gory type dolls like Living Dead Dolls and Bleeading Edge Goth dolls/figures but I figured that I'd wait and see how much this thread gets used before I split it in two.

I received my Stocking (from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt) Nendoroid today. She is the first one I ever bought! So cute! The pieces are so small and I'm afraid I will lose them. I already had a casualty. One of her swords cracked and some of the paint came off. I cannot use it since it won't stay in her hand. I am not sure what I can do or if I can find anyone who can repair it. I'm pretty certain I cannot contact the company and pay for a replacement since it says on the site I bought it from: For sale in Japan Only.

If anyone hears about someone selling a Nendoroid Stocking sword or knows how to repair Nendoroids please tell me!

It's pretty small and where it's cracked if it were glued I don't think it could be used unless someone skilled glued it. For her to hold the sword you need to take the blade off from the handle, push the handle through the hand and then attach the blade back to the sword. It's very tiny. I don't think I could do it correctly. Maybe someone could but I don't trust my ability to pull it off. I think I could get the sword glued but it would be never be able to be held.

It's weird since I didn't have issues with the other sword at all.

After the sword breaking I don't think I'm going to switch her parts much at all.

That sounds like a challenge to me, I'd glue it for you if I could. I have all sorts of glues too. I've glued tiny things before.

Just thought I'd share at least one picture of Pingping, who I've simply re-named Pinny, since I didn't get the chance to do much with him yet. I gave him blue glass eyes and a scarf, now he's ready for photostory adventures... once I get some time to play with dolls lol

I found these eye chips when I was packing today. I got them for free from CoolKat I think? I tried to give them to another member before, but they disappeared.

If anyone wants them I'll be happy to send them your way for a buck or 2 for shipping.

I think I'm moving towards liking art dolls these days (ones that are or will be labelled off-topic for Den of Angels).

I already ordered Ariana from Leekeworld and have her on layaway. I am surprised that she was deemed off-topic since Florence and Clarice were on-topic but I don't mind.

I'm also really falling for Hilary by Doll Chateau. I have so many ideas for her!

I've also been looking at Enaibi's and Lillycat's art dolls. I'm planning on trying to get a Lillycat (Cerisedolls) doll eventually but I'm waiting it out for a doll she hasn't cast in resin yet. I hope I can get the doll once she is released since I don't know how many she plans on making.

Ariana was shipped out on Tuesday. That means she is arriving on Tuesday (since Monday is a holiday). I was really hoping by some chance she would arrive today!

I'm super excited for her!

There's no mail delivery Monday or Tuesday.

I'm so mad right now. I looked at the tracking on my DIM Happy boy today and it said "item out for delivery". I look again at noon and it says "item processed at local office. item on hold." MAD! That means I won't get him until Wednesday.

I don't get why they would get a giant box and then choose to NOT deliver it right before xmas. For all they know that could be someone's xmas present. It's not but they don't know that. Jerks.

Gah! Not even on Tuesday? Boo... I guess she'll be arriving on Wednesday then... I know she is in NB now so I would travel to go pick her up if they gave me the option to!

I'm so sad to hear that happened with you. It's weird how it said it was out for delivery then went to "item on hold". I didn't see many post vans drive by so I wouldn't be surprised if they took it easy today.

Yeah, he's sitting in Moncton somewhere instead of being in my arms. NOT happy.

Because Dec 24 and 25 are gov't holidays or something like that, but they fall on Saturday and Sunday (and we don't get mail on those days) that means that Monday and Tuesday there is no mail delivery. That added to me being upset that they had it there and didn't deliver it. I double checked on the Canada Post website and it's sad but true.

I'm like you, I'd go pick it up myself if I could just so I could have it. A friend of mine who delivers mail is telling me to call and talk to a supervisor and see if I can pick it up but uh... I feel weird doing that. I'll just sit here and whine loudly instead.

You really should give a call and just ask. You never know!

It makes no sense. I have a pair of TTYA jeans that say "item out for delivery" on them too and no one came. There was no mail delivery on our street at all.

I'll wait until Wednesday but this is pretty ridiculous. I don't get why they wouldn't try to deliver a big box like that right before Christmas. I guess they don't give a crap if people get their stuff or not and I'm just whining anyway. GRRR!

It's really funny that they actually delivered mail to our house last weekend and yet today was an actual normal delivery day and no one came by. And yes I'm going to be whining about this until Wednesday.

I take back my mad. They specially delivered my mail today. Well not my TTYA package but I did get my DIM package. Haven't even opened it yet I just wanted to post and say I take back my anger!

I do too to be honest. I was actually tempted for a little bit to go for the default face up too but I probably will send her head off to Clockwork_Angel. I'm actually hoping Kiki isn't another big head which is being released the same day or else I'm doomed. >_<

The rules confuse me too especially since Ariana has the same nose and lips as Florence (who is on-topic). But I don't mind since I will be sharing all pictures of my dolls on flickr as I work on them. I do wish there was an off-topic doll section on DoA to speak about off-topic dolls and where you could share pictures since the site is so high traffic.

I think I really found the type of dolls I really want to keep collecting.

I always loved the look of Pullips but I always had trouble with getting their bodies to stand. *laughs* I love big headed anything too. I have tons of stuffed animals with gigantic sized heads which can't be supported by their bodies.

I also really love anime-looking dolls. I am trying to find out if SQ Lab heads can fit on resin dolls even though they are meant for Dollfie Dream bodies.

Pullips are definitely tippy. They'll just fall onto their face. I have 1. She's the first more expensive doll I had ever fallen in love with and didn't get her at the time because there was no way I was paying $80 for a doll! lol How times change! Anyway, last year someone on Flickr saw I had this doll on a picture marked "wishlist" and they contacted me because they were selling her for a friend. So I bought her for much more than $80 because she's hard to find now. How times change. Unless they release a Pullip that blows me away she'll probably be my only one. I have 2 Taeyang dolls, 4 Dal dolls and 2 Blythe. Full size ones. I have minis too.

I think I've definitely discovered the type of doll I want to collect too which is awesome in a way but not so awesome in that they're bigger, pricier dolls. But it's made me not jump on buying other dolls so much now that I've sort of figured out what it is I like. So that's good, from that perspective. I probably won't be buying any more small BJDs or anymore of the other types of dolls I own except for Fashion Royalty (and the other Integrity lines, Dynamite Girls, Poppy Parker, Nu.Face, etc.) which I will continue to collect.

I wish there was an off topic doll chat on DoA too. Though I find I only really talk in one thread because I'm scared of all the rules and because not everyone is as friendly as the DIM Happy folks are. I just find the rules a little too rigid. There are too many. I'm afraid to even mention OT dolls even when it's in context of a conversation.
